Back after long time

Finally after a week of trouble I am atleast little bit relax. Though all of my problems have not yet ended but now it seems that time will solve them. I was out of action both online and offline for whole week. So here is a post to update all the things,

Firstly last week I received beautiful papers from Romina Nahta for Indian Craft Room Paper Swap. They are so lovely that I do not want to use them on any project :)

Here is a pic (its dark as it is taken in evening)

Secondly I have shipped the prizes to the Winners of both, the Blog Candy and also the Enjoyyyyy post. They might have got it by now or within couple of days.

Today in the morning I was also a bit bored or say exhausted, so I created a quick card.

So thats all for now, since I am in hurry so will post more later.

Custom Stamps

Few days back I had an idea to get own custom stamps. The reason was simple, when you pay $10-$20 for Stamp pack you hardly find one or two stamp usable and remaining stamps can hardly be used. I have more than 300 stamps right now but the usable ones are only 10-20, so why spend so much on those packs which contain non-useful stamps.

Hence, I ordered some custom stamps, the cost is high as I had to pay Rs. 800 for 4x6 inch size. But the good thing is that I was able to get around 15 stamps in this price where 2 were bigger stamps ( around 2.5 inch size) and 13 were 1 inch size stamps. They were made of Rubber Polymer and have same details as rubber stamps and are more detailed than clear acrylic stamps. The only problem I faced is that they were unmounted so the main trouble was mounting block for them which would increase the cost of the stamp further. To overcome this problem I used Cardboard, multiple layer of cardboard and sticked the stamp to it. The result was great. Here is a image to show the stamps:

If anyone wants to have Custom stamps then I can help them. The expected cost for 2.5 X 2.5 inch stamp would be around Rs. 250.

Now one important information : The Prize of the Enjoyyyyyy Post is a Custom 2.5 X 2.5 inch stamp. The winner need to provide me the design they want as stamp and I will get it made for you.

Embossing Card

Today I created a Card with only embossing technique. It was not an easy job as using only embossing to create something was a bit difficult and I had two ideas for it, either to make a card to give to my wife whose birthday is in June or create a card for my sister whose birthday is on May. The deadline won and I created a card which I will give to my sister on her birthday (17th May, remember my blog candy day?)

This card can be the simplest card with green color flock embossing powder used as ground, there are four flowers which are of different color flock and glitter embossing powder, The Hippo in between the flowers have a sentiment Hip Hip Hippo with purple glitter powder.

There is also Happy Birthday written on top, where I used Red Flock Powder (In photo the words happy birthday might not be clearly visible but they look good in realty).

And when there is ground, flower and hippo then why not a smiling Sun? So I created a Sun with Golden Glitter Powder.

I would have colored the card to bring more effect but since I wanted to enter this card in Make a card with only heat embossing Challenge of Karuna (Crafting Queen) so I kept it as it is. It still looks great.

PS: Sorry about my low res images, my old Digi cam has been broken and I am taking Pics using my cell phone. I am planning to buy a good Digital Camera soon.

What should be the cost?

It is more of a question than a regular post. I have looked into various sources and I found that the price range in craft products is very big. You can find a A4 pattern paper sheet for Rs. 5 per sheet and you can also find another A4 Pattern paper sheet for Rs. 100. There is no price range in this field. I myself imported some stuffs from USA but when I got them I found out that they are also outsourcing their printing, manufacturing to China. So the only reason for price being so high can be the artist or brand name. Quality does matter but the huge price difference is no match for quality.

So here is a big question for all readers of this blog. What should be the price in which you will find purchasing craft supplies reasonable:

1. For A4 Pattern Paper (80-120 GSM)
2. For A4 Pattern Paper (200 or higher GSM)
3. For 12x12 Pattern Paper (250 GSM)
4. For Stamp (3x3 inch size, any type like Rubber, acrylic or Polymer)

And another big question. What should be reasonable price for a Custom Stamp of 3x3 inch size with your choice graphic or text?

Please do not answer these questions with prices which no one can get. If you don't want to answer then don't answer but please don't write anything which is not possible.

Congratulations Card

Today my friend started his clinic, I wanted to congratulate him for his new start, but I didn't have enough time to prepare anything. By luck yesterday I saw that Robive is offering a Free Paper Bag template, I downloaded it and made a paper bag which was looking really great. But who gives an empty paper bag? so I created a small Congratulations card to be kept inside the paperbag and handed it over.

Here are the pics:

You can download template for this paperbag at Robives.com
He has some really beautiful automated paper models.

Inside of the card. My handwriting is not good :(

A simple card with Digi image taken from : Sliekje Blog. The front image is colored with Sakura Glaze Gel Pens, they never look good on Pictures but in reality they have very lovely wet look and they shine.

Mother's Day Card

Here is a card I made for Mother's Day. I used Digi Stamp of Cat from Sliekje's Blog, there are some really lovely Digi Stamps there for free. I also used some pattern paper strips to create the Mat which I glued beneath the Digi Image. I colored the Digi Stamp with Sakura Glaze Pens which brought a real shinny effect on the card (though it is not very clear in photo).

Here is the card :

My mom liked this card very much.

I am entering this card for Indian Craft Room's Mother's day and Digi Challenge

Mini Card Template

I have uploaded a Blank Mini Card Template on my website : Adityastar.com which you can get by directly this link : Mini Card Template

you can use these cards in many ways. For example you can print out the template on back of pattern paper and then cut out and stamp to create mini cards with some quote or stamp. Or you can edit the pdf file using photoshop to create your logo and then create your own branding cards. Possibilities are many.

Here is image of what I made :

I use them for branding, bookmark and also to give as simple business cards.

Fulfilling the order

In past post I told about the order I got of 100 Cards. Now I am about to complete it. I have made almost all the cards and packed them in small packs of 25 Cards per pack. Here is a image of one pack:

I tried to make a variety of cards with different Pattern papers and also different stamps. I also made a box for the cards in which 25 cards can be kept. To brand it I added a mini card of The Craft Zone (I will upload the template very soon on My website Adityastar.com).
