Polymer Clay Dragon

Recently I tried polymer clay and believe me its great. The only drawback is its baking but if done properly then the results are outstanding. Even a novice like me had made one cane, one mini piglet and 2 cute dragons in just 2 days of learning and making time.

First of all I must acknowledge the blog from where I have learnt to make the dragon and her blog link is: Katersacres.com

If you want to make this dragon then follow the simple tutorial and you can make one within 2 hours. I have created mine around 2 inch in height.

Here are the pics:

This is my first polymer clay sculpture, I used dark yellow and metallic pink clay for the body. White and black polymer clay for eyes. It took me around 1 hour in making and 1 hour in baking time. The piglet was a quickie made with the remaining pink clay. I baked the piglet only for around 20 minutes.

This dragon I made today, I also created a base with polymer clay also. The tree is just decorating element. This time I made better eyes and also gave some finishing effects which can't be shown in pics.

Another pic of the dragon.

Closeup of my cute Dragon.

I am extremely happy with the result since it is only my second attempt with polymer clay. I used Premo Polymer Clay for making this items. And my baking temperature was 130 degree centigrade.

If you are working with polymer clay then do remember to follow the directions of manufacturer. Never exceed the manufacturer's temperature and don't overburn your clay, you will not like the result and smell.

My first attempt on using quilled creations jewellery rings..

 Hello friends !!

Once again I am  Rajni here from Passionately Curious with my new creation.I have been a lousy blogger not at all active in making any post on blog.Sorry,I kept you waiting for so long.....will try to maintain my regularity now.

Recently i have added few new products to my craft room. Quilled creation jewelry rings...Washi Tapes...UTEE and so many new dies. Quilled Creation Jewellery rings are brass rings with black nickel-free and lead free base. These rings are available in 5/8th" and 1/4th"in size n 1/8th" depth and comes 2 pieces per pack.My daughter was after  me to make something for her with these amazing rings. She was very happy when she got two instead of one and that too....colors of her choice.
Some times I really get very confused when so many new things gets piled up and i don't get sufficient time to try my hands on them.Today I'll be sharing the result of my this beautiful confusion.I called it beautiful as it really turned up so well. Everything i used was quite new to me. Read so many reviews about these rings n UTEE  but was not sure at all how will they turn out when combined together.

Here is what I came  up with...

Here is the side view....
Isn't it yummy!!!

I know you guys are definitely going to try this beauty. Here is the tutorial for this...

Prepare a card stock of light color matching to your washi tapes by sticking them together without leaving any space in between. Either die cut or use templates to cut 2 different sizesof flowers. Ink up the flower cut outs with versamark ink and sprinkle UTEE. Shake off excess UTEE. Hold the die cut with your foreceps and melt it with heating tool. Repeat the process till u get desired results. Shape up the petals when little warm. Pierce both the flowers with Crop a dile and hold them together with a brad. Give a fine quoting of mod podge to make it wash proof. Now fix the ready flower to quilled creation jewelry ring with glossy accent.

You can easily find Quilled Creation Jewellery Rings at Imaginations, the Premium Craft Supply Store.

    Happy crafting :)

    Bottlecap Charms

    Hi,

Recently I have decided to create some work on Mixed Media and I was not sure what to use as charms and suddenly an idea hit on my mind to create own Bottle cap charms and hence I created the following charms :

These charms were looking very beautiful on the Frame (sorry couldn't took the picture of the frame as it was taken away by my student).

Creating the charms was one of the easiest task, in fact I made all the six charms in less than 15 minutes. Here is how:

    * I used the Blank Bottlecaps from Happy Crafter (it comes along with Epoxy dome too).

    * Then I used 1" Circle Punch to punch out circles of the bottlecaps from pattern paper of my choice

    * Afterwards, I pasted the circles on the bottle caps (in 3 I pasted inside the caps and in 3 I pasted them outside)

    * Then I added Tim Holtz Chit Chat Stickers to add some chit chat words in the caps. I love using Tim Holtz Chit Chat Stickers, they are so versatile and have such good number of stickers in each pack.

    * Finally I added the Epoxy dome on the design and my charms were ready to be used. Took almost less than 15 minutes to make.

You can order the Blank Bottlecaps along with the Epoxy Dome Stickers and other items on Imaginations

    Frame for my kids

    Hi,

As you all know that I am a huge fan of Rajni Chawla's Work especially her quilled frames but since I don't have that good quilling and I also don't have that much patience to complete projects similar to her (actually I am planning to get some classes from her). Hence when I thought to make some thing similar to her projects then I knew that my project won't be anyway near to hers but still that will be beautiful. So here is my frame which I made for my kids and will use it as sample.

For this frame, I used Distress Paints, Distress inks and Crafter's Workshop Templates to create the background. I colored the doilies with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I used Flourishes cut from Black Fabriano to decorate in the background. For Flowers I used Tim Holtz Dies and for Paper I used Core`dinations Chocolate Paper and Black Magic Paper (I love the sanding effect on the flowers and I am sure If any of you have tried them then you would have surely loved it.) For embellishments I used some Diecut wooden embellishments (the flourish & birdcage which I brought from Itsy Bitsy last year). Fence is made from MFT Die and colored with Picket Fence Distress Paint. Embellished with some premade mini flowers. Lastly I added one butterfly from Tim Holtz Cardstock Stickers and some chitchats.

The project was completed in 2 days as the flowers took the most time to make (sanding, curling and assembling). For Leaves in background I used Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die, cut from white cardstock, colored using Distress Paints and then stamped in it using my custom made stamp.

    I hope you like it.

    Gazebo

    Hi,

Today I created another Gazebo. I am in love with this Model. Thanks to Patricia Zapata who made such a great template and also made it compatible for Silhouette Cameo (which made my cutting work very easy). The template can also be printed and then hand cut but I preferred Silhouette for making my work easy. You can buy the template from her website : A Little Hut Gazebo

Now I want to share one more point, this is for those who own Silhouette, for some time I am experimenting on Silhouette Cameo regarding which paper will cut better and which not, I found that Bazzil Cardstock, American Craft Cardstock and Fabriano Cardstock cuts like Charm. Echo Park Papers also cut very well. So do keep it in mind while making your project. The Indian Papers or other Chinese papers may stick on your mat and will result in bad cutting.

Without writing much here is the Gazebo which I made:

Do enlarge the pic to see that Fabriano Paper has increased the beauty of this model and so did the Echo Park Paper. If you have seen my old Gazebo (posted on facebook) then you will understand the difference.

Some Decoupage Cards and a Floral Wreath

    Hi,

Today I made some Decoupage cards, using Paper Mania Decoupage Kit (I don't stock Paper Mania Stuff and I myself buy it from A1Craft Supply) I must admit that the new Decoupage Kit are great. You can create beautiful decoupages in matter of minutes. Also the kit contains some gorgeous tags which will increase the beauty of your projects. I created 3 Decoupage cards but the Third one was instantly grabbed by one of my customers who loved it very much, I even didn't got time to capture a pic but I will soon make more cards. Anyway without wasting much time here are the two cards which are still with me (don't know till how long !!)

For both the cards I used only single Decoupage Sheet and one sheet of Fabriano Cardstock (I make cards of size 5.5" X 4.25" ) for the base pattern paper I again used some lovely papers from Paper Mania Wellington Collection (6x6 Size).

Apart from this today I also tried making a Floral Wreath with Tim Holtz Die, and some punches. Here is the pic:

For this wreath you will need one doily for base, atleast 2 types of leaf die/punch and 2 punches for flowers. First Glue the base leave diecuts in circular way around the doily. The glue the second leave which should have a little bit less dark green color than the base leaves. After that take Dark Pink and Light Pink Paper and punch from any flower punch you like, give them 3D effect by using rounding tool. Glue them on the leaves randomly. Afterwards you can use Pearls, Rhinestones to decorate the center of the flowers, Here I used Golden Stickles in Center.

This Floral Wreath will look Lovely on your wedding projects, love related projects. I pasted it on my Shop's Door where it is pasted above Welcome text.

If you make any wreath following the above steps then do share your wreath link in comments. I will love to see your creations.

    Thankyou Card and some Tags

    Hi,

Recently I was not very active in blogging, I do made lots of projects but couldn't post them here due to lack of time. Yesterday I made one Thankyou card and some tags. As always I prefer distressing and love how the results come out. In this card I tried to keep some bright colors and the result is very beautiful. Have a look:

I have used the following Distress ink Colors: Wild Honey, Fired Brick, Walnut Stain, Dusty Concord, Broken China, Mustard Seed. For Stamping I used Black Soot. I also used chocolate brads of HOTP on top right corner. I have used Tim Holtz Stamps (assorted packs) and for Tag I used Spellbinder Die (I forgot the name as I threw the cover some time earlier, I will update the post as soon as I remember the name.)
It was a fun project because the three people stamp was not used by me till date and I was wondering how it will look on projects. It looks lovely.

And now I am posting some tags which I made to try some different Distressing Techniques:

In the above tags I used mostly the same material as in previous card but only used some different techniques. The flower piece in center is stamped and cut using Hero Arts Stamp and Cut die then I embossed it and distressed it to create a lovely vintage embossed flower look (This is a technique which I learnt from Rajini Ji.)

    Wood background card...

    Hello friends...

Just a small and a very quick post today. Though i hv a long list of crafters who always inspire me daily but the card i am sharing today is inspired by Erum Tasneem and Kavi tha.
Few months back  i was trying hard to create wood background for my quilling project but was not happy with what i created.TheWoodground card by Kavi tha and a card by Glitter and Swirls( Erum Tanseem) were so eye catching that i descided to try my hands on.Hop on to their blog if u also want to get inpired.

    Ooooppps!!
How can i forget to use my favourite alchohol inks.
    No,I can't do that.

Can anyone tell me where have i used alchol inks ????

Yessss.....those pretty lemon colour pearls are inked with these inks only.
    Arn't they amazing???
U can do lots n lots more with these inks.I will be posting more projects very soon.Keep updating yourself.

All supplies used are easily available at Imaginations, the premium craft supply store.U can also find us on facebook for latest updates.

I would love it if everyone visiting my blog leave some comment :)

    Have a nice day.

    RAJNI..

    We are the perfect blend..

    Hello everyone!!

I'm Rajni, here again to show u what all i m busy creating these days with alcohol inks. Since Holi is approaching and i m too playing with lots of bright colors i thought of making something to co-relate with the same.

This card will show u how clear n transparant these inks are.You won't believe i have used more then 6 colors in creating this background.
Again simple steps to work with these inks.I have used OHP transprency sheet for this project.

    • Squeeze two or three colors of AdirondackAlcohol Ink on an Ink Applicator.
    • Dab onto the transparency, covering the entire area with color. Allow to dry.
    • Dab second layer with another three different colours with the help of ink applicator and this time use ink blending solution.Dab again n again to get blotchy effect and let it dry on it own.
    • Once the surface is completely dry add few drops of some bright color and without wasting any time blow with a straw. The inks have flowing consistency due to which it will run with pressure.
    • Attach the Transparency over the glossy paper.

Now you can design your card according to your theme. Here i have made a rossette with Ms Double LoopPunch and placed a pretty mulberry flower on top.For the tiny butterflies i have used the same inking technique, but on glossy paper this time.

Note.....A very very special tip for all those who have these inks but are not able to use them because either they don't have Alchohol blending solution or those who feel expensive using it.This is the tip i got from a wonderful friend,a wonderful crafter who runs craft online classes.she is Varah Musavvir.I must say she is a wonderful teacher Thanks a lot Varah it was great fun learning at ur classes.
    Now on to the tip...
Just open your cupboard and try using your inks with your nail polish remover. Those who don't have it can get Wembley's thinner from a hardware shop.Trust me it worked wonders for me.With this i want to add that results with Alchohol blending solution are much better. Those who want to spend can add that only but my pocket allows me to add new shades of these colours rather than to buy blending solution. So the decision is left to you.

All supplies used are easily available at Imaginations, the premium craft supply store.U can also find us on facebook for latest updates.

Please feel free to ask questions....i think i learn more by answering your questions.

    Hugs :)
