here we are with out guest designer for IMAGINATIONS ..

NOW , over to Manu from A Handfull Of Art
I had a chance to Guest Design for the ‘Imaginations’ and I’m super elated to be doing so  because this happens to be my first GDT post.
I’m Manu and I am a software specialist by profession and now a full time paper artist. My journey with paper crafts began last year and since then there has been no looking back. Making handmade gift had always been my passion and I would gift little teeny tiny handmade things to my family members on numerous occasions.

I’m trying my hands on decoupage these days and will share a step by step process along with the pictures of the same.

I took this 9 drawer set and started my adventure with the decoupage. Let me show you the before and after pictures!!

Lets get rolling on how its made. I’m putting up a list of instructions on how this is achieved.

1)      Start with the 9 drawer chest and paint it all black with the acrylic colors. I used the black color as it makes awesome combination with the different shades of pink. I painted the inside of the boxes and outside with a single coat and the inside of the MDF base with a single and the outside with a double coat. This was done so that the drawers could slide in easily after the paint coat.
2)      Let the paint dry and use a little of the sandpaper to sand in the edges and the sides of each drawer a little bit to give it a little texture as well as to make sure that the drawers slides in and out freely.
3)      Now use your pattern papers, cut them to the size. I used 2 of the gorgeous sheets from the “Sweet Stack” from DCWV.
4)      Adhere the pattern papers to each of the drawers using the Mod Podge. You need to follow the under and over rule when using Mod Podge i.e adhere the paper using the mod podge, let it dry stick properly and apply the same over the paper also.

1)      Now comes the time to embellish the drawers set and I made tiny little rosettes to be adhered on few of the drawers. I also added some embellishment on the top of the drawer set which you can see in the pictures below.
2)      I used the Joy Craft die to make the rose and the Spellbinders Oval die. For the corners, again the joy craft dies have been used. Added a little bit of rhinestones for the extra oomph!
3)      Do not forget to seal the deal with a couple of coats of the Mod Podge. I did that with 2 coats. This also makes the drawer set waterproof!

Now comes the yummy treat of the pictures, check them out below.

This is how the top of the drawers looks like.

I moved ahead and created one more chest and here are the pictures of both of them together.

The top view.

I hope you liked my creations as much as I loved making them!!!

They turned out to be exactly the way I had visualised them in my mind and I totally love them!! Do tell me how do you find them!! DO LEAVE SOME LOVE AND YOUR VALUABLE COMMENTS !!

Take Care crafty people
