HI peeps

Monsoon is here... love rains !! who doesn't??
And we have on board with us our GUEST DESIGNER -  RUPA SWAMINATHAN from
TOFA - Together for Arts

Hello Crafters…
I am Rupa from Bangalore and I have been taking hobby classes from home, teaching various forms of paintings and murals for the last 10years and crafting has been my latest love and blogging my “current crush”!!! loving it
I have the pleasure of being the GD for Imaginations this month! The theme there is so close to my heart ”Anything goes with Monsoons”…who doesn’t like rains??? Today I have an altered mini burlap panel .

Firstly, I applied Distress stain( Picket fence) randomly on the panel and then with my home made texture paste, TCW mini bricks stencil went about creating textures. Colored the bricks using DI, (fired brick) and peeled paint to give a slightly “mossy” look and also walnut stain. Also applied some lime green acrylic paint on the edges to brighten up the panel.

I cut out the chipboard windows using IO die and heat embossed the window with white embossing powder(2 coats). Next is the window dressing…I took out some cheese cloth and misted it with mustard seed DI and made the curtains. Then stuck a lovely PP from DCWV stack 8 and fixed the window on the panel and the planter just below it! The panel was slowly coming to life!

I then went around making a small trough for the widow to make the planter and heat embossed that too.Small flowers are made with TH tattered florals and leaves are using punches.

For the top of the panel, I laid a bed of feathers die cuts(Cheery Lynn) and some foliage and pebbles too! Then some hand made gardenias using Joy crafts die and the mini TH flowers.
I then stamped some butterflies on vellum using Kaiserkraft stamps and heat embossed them too in black and white. colored them with markers and fussy cut them..All the butterflies took their position on the panel .I then took some metal charms appropriate with monsoons…the umbrella and a tea pot(don’t you love a hot cuppa when it rains???) and hung it from the top using bakers twine.

The hand written quote is from google and to make it look like a scene just after rains, I used glossy accents to give the feel of water droplets on the entire panel! That completes the rain scene here…I have used white paper rope for the hanging.

Hope this inspires you for the current project and I enjoyed every minute of altering this panel of creative Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Happy Crafting and Recycling.
